HOUSTON, Sept. 9, 2013 /PRNewswire/ -- Sanchez Energy Corp.(NYSE: SN) ("Sanchez Energy" or the "Company") announced today it intends to commence an underwritten public offering of 8,000,000 shares of the Company's common stock. Sanchez Energy intends to use the net proceeds from this offering to partially fund the previously announced Wycross acquisition, to fund a portion of its 2013 and preliminary 2014 capital budget, which is primarily focused on the Eagle Ford Shale, and for general corporate purposes, including working capital. The Company expects to grant the underwriters a 30-day option to purchase up to an additional 1,200,000 shares of common stock.
Johnson Rice & Company L.L.C. and RBC Capital Markets are acting as joint book-running managers of the offering.
