CALGARY, ALBERTA--(Marketwired - Jun 2, 2014) - Gear Energy Ltd. ("Gear") (TSX:GXE) is pleased to announce that effective June 2, 2014, Mr. Harry English has been appointed to the Board of Directors of Gear.
Mr. English is a Chartered Accountant with over 37 years' experience, most recently as a senior partner at Deloitte LLP. He is a former Professional Practice Director for Deloitte LLP's audit division in Alberta, Saskatchewan and Manitoba and spent the majority of his professional career on the audit and reporting of large public companies primarily in energy and energy-related industries. In the past, Mr. English has served on the Alberta Securities Commission's Financial Advisory Committee as well as Treasurer for the S.A. Opera Development Foundation, The Calgary Opera Association, and the Calgary branch of the Canadian Cancer Society. He brings with him considerable practical knowledge of public company financial reporting and regulatory requirements.
Mr. English graduated with a Bachelor of Science (Honours) from the University of St. Andrews, Scotland in 1976 and is also a Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales.
