CALGARY, ALBERTA--(Marketwired - Mar 25, 2014) - Freehold Royalties Ltd. (Freehold) (TSX:FRU) is pleased to announce that Susan MacKenzie has agreed to stand for election as a director of Freehold at the annual meeting of shareholders to be held on May 14, 2014.
Ms. MacKenzie is a Corporate Director, independent consultant, and former oil and gas industry executive with over 25 years of energy sector experience in operations and service support areas.
Ms. MacKenzie has been an independent consultant since September 2010. From April to September of 2010, she served as Chief Operating Officer with Oilsands Quest Inc. Prior thereto, Ms. MacKenzie was employed for 12 years at Petro-Canada where she held senior roles including Vice-President of Human Resources and Vice-President of In Situ Development & Operations, and spent 14 years with Amoco Canada working in a variety of engineering and leadership roles in natural gas, conventional oil and heavy oil exploitation.
Ms. MacKenzie holds a Bachelor of Engineering (Mechanical) degree from McGill University, an MBA from the University of Calgary and is a member of the Association of Professional Engineers and Geoscientists of Alberta (APEGA). Ms. MacKenzie also holds the ICD.D designation from the Institute of Corporate Directors. She currently serves on the boards of Enerplus Corporation and FortisAlberta.
Freehold's primary focus is on acquiring and managing oil and gas royalties. The majority of production comes from royalty interests (mineral title and gross overriding royalties). Freehold's common shares trade on the Toronto Stock Exchange in Canada under the symbol FRU.
