Investment grade rating of KTG Agrar AG confirmed

- Rating BBB confirmed
- Management team strengthened

Hamburg, 15 October 2012 - Creditreform Rating AG has confirmed the BBB
rating of KTG Agrar, which means that one of the leading agricultural
companies in Europe has again been given an investment grade rating.
Creditereform's outlook for KTG Agrar also remains stable. 'The renewed
confirmation of our strong credit standing shows that we have successfully
invested in relevant assets,' says CEO Siegfried Hofreiter.

In the past years, KTG Agrar has made huge investments in scarce farmland
and the production of renewable energy. Today, the company cultivates some
35,700 hectares of farmland - of which 8,100 hectares are company-owned -
in Germany and Lithuania. Through its listed subsidiary, KTG Energie AG, it
is the largest German producer of environmentally friendly energy from
biogas. Moreover, the company has extended its value chain from the field
to the retail store through the takeover of Frenzel Tiefkühlkost and has
become an integrated agricultural supplier.

KTG Agrar has set itself the objective of increasing its profits
significantly in 2012 and 2013. The company will accelerate its farmland
growth again and is determined to reach the 40,000 ha target. KTG Energie
will also continue its profitable growth and pass the 60 MW mark by the
year 2015.

To implement its growth strategy, KTG Agrar has expanded its management
team by hiring graduate agricultural engineer Georg Reese. In his capacity
as Commercial Director, he will primarily be responsible for the
controlling department. During the past 14 years, Georg Reese sat on the
Management Board of an international agricultural corporation based in
Germany. 'We are very pleased to have won Georg Reese for our management
team, as he is a respected agricultural and financial expert with
international experience,' said Siegfried Hofreiter.
