CALGARY, Dec. 13, 2018 - Birchcliff Energy Ltd. (“Birchcliff” or the “Corporation”) (TSX: BIR) is pleased to announce that Ms. Stacey McDonald has been appointed as a director of Birchcliff effective December 14, 2018. Ms. McDonald brings over 13 years of experience in the energy and financial sectors to Birchcliff, including extensive knowledge of capital markets and financial analysis. She was most recently a Managing Director of Institutional Energy Research at GMP FirstEnergy, a leading independent global energy investment bank. Ms. McDonald holds a Bachelor of Commerce degree in Finance from the University of Alberta. The Board of Directors of Birchcliff believes that given Ms. McDonald’s knowledge of capital markets and the oil and natural gas industry, she will be an excellent addition to the Board.
In addition, Birchcliff announces that Ms. Rebecca Morley has resigned as a director of Birchcliff effective December 14, 2018, as Ms. Morley has accepted a position with McKinsey & Company which prohibits its employees from serving as directors of public companies. The Board of Directors of Birchcliff would like to thank Ms. Morley for her valuable contributions to Birchcliff over the last few years and wishes her well in the future.
Effective December 14, 2018, Ms. McDonald has been appointed as a member of the Corporation’s Audit Committee, Compensation Committee, Nominating Committee and Reserves Evaluation Committee and Ms. Debra A. Gerlach, C.A., has been appointed as the Chair of the Audit Committee, a position that is currently held by Ms. Morley.
