Dallas-area employees will volunteer more than 1,000 hours at five local
nonprofit organizations during the company′s annual Week of Action.
From October 10 to 16, employees will offer their time and talent to
support projects and programs at Dallas Area Habitat for Humanity,
Junior Achievement of Dallas, North Texas Food Bank, Reading Radio
Resources and Girls Inc. of Metropolitan Dallas.
'ExxonMobil employees have a long history of giving back to the
communities where we live and work,? said Rex W. Tillerson, chairman and
chief executive officer, Exxon Mobil Corporation (NYSE:XOM).
'Volunteering through our Week of Action is one of the many important
ways our employees aid nonprofit organizations in providing critical
services to our friends and neighbors.?
Week of Action is part of ExxonMobil′s annual Employees′ Favorite
Charities Campaign, in which nonprofit organizations in Collin, Dallas,
Denton, Ellis, Hunt, Johnson, Kaufman, Rockwall, Tarrant and Van Zandt
counties are eligible to receive employee and retiree gifts. ExxonMobil
will also provide a corporate contribution to many organizations
providing health and human services.
Last year, ExxonMobil and its employees and retirees contributed more
than $1.6 million to more than 200 charities through the inaugural
Employees′ Favorite Charities Campaign. ExxonMobil′s Week of Action
serves to extend monetary giving by matching employees and agencies with
opportunities to support the community through hands-on volunteering.
