VANCOUVER, 06/20/11 - Prophecy Platinum Corp. ('Platinum' or the 'Company') (TSX VENTURE: NKL) (PINK SHEETS: PNIKF) (FRANKFURT: P94) is pleased to announce the appointment of John P. McGoran to its board of directors.
John McGoran graduated with a B.Sc. in Geology from Carleton University and has a P.Geo designation. Mr. McGoran is a member in good standing with both the British Columbia Association of Professional Engineers and Geoscientists, and the Society for Mining, Metallurgy and Exploration.
Mr. McGoran's extensive experience includes thirty eight years as an economic geologist and twelve years as a prospector for economic minerals. Mr. McGoran is a co-founder of Imperial Metals Corp., founder of Fleck Resources (now Polymet), founder of Northern Platinum Ltd. and former director of Prophecy Coal Corp. (TSX VENTURE: PCY).
Additionally, Mr. John Kerr and Mr. Michael Sweatman have resigned as Directors of Platinum. The Company would like to thank them for their service.
The Company also wishes to announce that it has granted options to acquire an aggregate of 5.67 million common shares at a price of $0.90 per share for a period of five years to directors, officers, consultants and employees of the Company. The above grant is subject to regulatory approval, including the approval of the TSX Venture Exchange.
