VANCOUVER, BRITISH COLUMBIA -- (Marketwire) -- 02/11/11 -- East Asia Minerals Corporation (the 'Company') (TSX VENTURE: EAS) announces the resignation of John Gingerich and Robert Parsons as directors of the Company. The Company thanks Mr. Gingerich and Mr. Parsons for their services. Both have brought valuable experience and insights to the Company and have made the Board a stronger team.
The Company wishes to appoint John Wright as a director of the Company. Mr Wright brings 35 years of mining experience in engineering, construction and operations of both open pit and underground mines in North and South America. Mr Wright was formerly the cofounder and Chief Operating Officer of Pan American Silver from 1995-2003 and was a director of both Regalito Copper Corp and Northern Peru Copper Corp. from inception until the sale of the companies. He is currently a director of Lumina Copper Corp. Mr. Wright will be a welcome addition to our Board of Directors.
