S&P Dow Jones Indices Announces Changes to the S&P/TSX Canadian Indices

A Share Update for Cenovus Energy Inc. in S&P/TSX Indices

TORONTO, April 6, 2017 /CNW/ - S&P Dow Jones Indices Canadian Index Services will make the following changes in the S&P/TSX Canadian Indices:  

Cenovus Energy Inc. (TSX:CVE) has announced the closing of a prospectus offering of common shares as part of the acquisition of assets from ConocoPhillips (NYSE:COP).  To reflect this share issuance, the relative weight of Cenovus will increase in the S&P/TSX Composite and Capped Composite, the S&P/TSX 60, 60 Capped and 60 ESG, the S&P/TSX Composite Dividend, the S&P/TSX Capped Energy and the S&P/TSX 60 Carbon Efficient Indices prior to the open of trading on Monday, April 10, 2017. There will be no change to the relative weight of Cenovus in the S&P/TSX Composite Equal Weight, the S&P/TSX 60 Equal Weight, the S&P/TSX 60 Carbon Efficient Select, the S&P/TSX Composite High Beta, the S&P/TSX Equal Weight Oil & Gas or the S&P/TSX 60 U.S. Revenue Exposure Indices.
