Chevron Introduces HDAX ? Prediluted 40/60 Extended Life Coolant/Antifreeze
Formulated to deliver up to 32,000 hours of service life in heavy-duty
stationary natural gas engines
Chevron Lubricants, maker of technologically advanced engine oils,
lubricants and coolants, today introduced its new HDAX ? Prediluted 40/60
Extended Life Coolant/Antifreeze. The product, designed for use in
heavy-duty stationary natural gas engines that require improved heat
transfer performance and long-life cooling system protection in a wide
range of operating conditions, is formulated with Chevron's patented
carboxylate corrosion inhibitor technology.
Up to 17% Improved Heat Transfer
The silicate free formula found in HDAX Prediluted 40/60 Extended Life
Coolant/Antifreeze can deliver up to 17% improved heat transfer when
compared to traditional 50/50 coolants using silicates. This improved
heat transfer results in fewer high temperature engine de-rating events
or shutdowns.
The product′s phosphate free properties help to reduce the occurrence of
hard water and phosphate scale on heat transfer surfaces such as liners,
hoses and radiators versus high phosphate (typically containing 3000ppm
or greater of Phosphate) containing heat transfer fluids or coolants.

Reduced Operating Costs
The extended life formula helps to reduce the need for Supplemental
Coolant Additives (SCA), resulting in less SCA purchases and fewer
maintenance checks. HDAX Prediluted 40/60 Extended Life
Coolant/Antifreeze is excellent for operations where stationary engines
are in remote locations, or are periodically moved from job site to job
site and coolant maintenance is sporadic.
Excellent Protection
HDAX Prediluted 40/60 Extended Life Coolant/Antifreeze helps deliver
effective, long term corrosion protection, even at the elevated
temperatures commonly found on cooling system metals. The product is
effective at protecting against liner cavitation and pitting and helps
to maximizes water pump seal life due to its silicate-free,
phosphate-free formulation.
Extending Service Life
HDAX Prediluted 40/60 Extended Life Coolant/Antifreeze may provide up to
32,000 hours of stationary engine coolant life when following OEM
coolant maintenance recommendations and maintaining a correct 40/60
dilution ratio. For 32,000 hour life operations, always ensure the
system is topped-off with HDAX Prediluted 40/60 ELC and take coolant
samples every 6 months to check for coolant dilution. Should dilution
occur, add either HDAX Prediluted 40/60 ELC or Chevron′s Fleetfix
Maintenance product to maintain appropriate coolant system protection.
The product has been field tested with stationary gas engine operators
who reported excellent long-life performance, superb cavitation
protection and low maintenance costs. Testing was conducted in various
engine models including Caterpillar and Waukesha stationary gas engines
operating in severe conditions.
HDAX ? Prediluted 40/60 Extended Life Coolant/Antifreeze meets or exceeds
ASTM D6210 and D3306, and is suitable for use in stationary gas engines

in its unused form and can be stored for a minimum of 8 years as
