PDC Energy Appoints Mr. Barton Brookman to Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer and Ms. Adell K. Heneghan to Vice President of Environmental Health and Safety

DENVER, June 11, 2013 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- PDC Energy, Inc. ("PDC" or the "Company") (Nasdaq:PDCE) today announced the appointment of Mr. Barton Brookman to Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer at the Company's recent Board of Directors meeting. The Company also appointed Ms. Adell Heneghan to Vice President of Environmental Health and Safety ("EHS").

Mr. Brookman has previously served as Senior Vice President Exploration and Production since joining PDC in July 2005. Prior to PDC, Mr. Brookman worked for Patina Oil and Gas and its predecessor Snyder Oil from 1988 until 2005 in a series of operational and technical positions of increasing responsibility, ending his service as Vice President of Operations for Patina. Mr. Brookman holds a B.S. in Petroleum Engineering from the Colorado School of Mines and a M.S. in Finance from the University of Colorado.

Previously EHS Director for PDC, Ms. Heneghan's responsibilities include environmental remediation, regulatory compliance, technology review, and environmental planning, as well as leadership for PDC's environmental professional team. Ms. Heneghan joined PDC Energy in September 2009 and has over twenty-five years of environmental and safety related experience. Ms. Heneghan holds Bachelor of Science degrees in Environmental Engineering and Environmental Biology from the New Mexico Institute of Mining and Technology, as well as a Masters of Natural Resource Management from the University of Idaho.
