Platmin announces Board appointment

TORONTO, May 26, 2011 - Platmin Limited ('Platmin' or 'the Company') (TSX: PPN) (AIM: PPN); (JSE: PLN) is pleased to announce the appointment of Kgosi Nyalala Molefe John Pilane as a director on the Board of Platmin Limited.

Kgosi Pilane (53) will be the Platmin Board representative for the Bakgatla Ba Kgafela (Bakgatla) Tribe, a key partner in the development of Platmin's operations on the western limb of the Bushveld Complex in South Africa.

Kgosi Pilane was an independent business owner, as well as General Secretary of the Rustenburg United Taxi Association before assuming his current role as Kgosi of the Bakgatla. In this capacity he restructured the Bakgatla Traditional Council into a business entity, and developed partnerships with Anglo Platinum, Barrick Gold, Pallinghurst and Platmin.

Platmin Chairman, Brian Gilbertson welcomed Kgosi Pilane's appointment:
