McEwen Mining gab bekannt, dass die im September angekündigte Fusion von US Gold und Minera Andes erfolgreich abgeschlossen wurde. Gemäß Vereinbarung wurde Minera Andes durch US Gold erworben und das neue Unternehmen erhielt den Namen McEwen Mining. Die Aktionäre beider Unternehmen hatten ihre Zustimmung am 19. Januar erteilt.
