TORONTO, June 13, 2013 /CNW/ - Scorpio Mining Corporation (TSX: SPM) ("Scorpio" or the "Company") announced today that each of the five nominees proposed as directors and listed in its management information circular dated May 6, 2013 was elected as a director of the Company at the Company's annual and special meeting of shareholders held on June 13, 2013. At the meeting, the Company's shareholders also approved the renewal of the Company's stock option plan and the amendment to the Company's By-laws, as set out in the Company's management information circular dated May 6, 2013.

Scorpio Mining Corporation is a silver producer operating in Mexico with significant base metal by-product credits. The 100% owned Nuestra Señora Mine in the Cosalá District of Sinaloa State, Mexico, has flexible mining methods and diversified metal production.
