BRISBANE, AUSTRALIA -- (Marketwire) -- 02/21/11 -- Intrepid Mines Limited (TSX: IAU)(ASX: IAU) (the 'Company') announces the appointment of Nyla Bacon as Company Secretary, with effect from 18 February 2011.

Nyla has over twenty years' experience in the legal profession in Australia and the United Kingdom. She retired from the law practice of Blake Dawson in 2008 after fourteen years' service with the firm, having served the last seven as a partner in the Melbourne Financial Services team.

Vanessa Chidrawi continues in the role as General Counsel, focussing specifically on matters related to the Tujuh Bukit project in Indonesia and resulting in a regular presence in Jakarta.
