Intrepid Mines Added To S&P / TSX Global Gold Index

BRISBANE, QUEENSLAND -- (Marketwire) -- 12/15/10 -- Intrepid Mines Limited ('Intrepid' or the 'Company') (TSX: IAU)(ASX: IAU) is pleased to note that, following the latest quarterly review by Standard and Poor's (S&P) of its Canadian Index Operations, the Company has been added to the S&P / TSX 'Global Gold Index'. This change will be effective at the market open on Monday 20 December 2010.

This announcement follows a similar move into the S&P / ASX indices, including the S&P / ASX 200 and the S&P / ASX All Australian index, effective as of 17 November 2010.
