Nexen Oil Sands Scholarship assists Anzac students

CALGARY, June 25, 2012 /CNW/ - Nexen Inc., in partnership with CNOOC Canada Inc., has created the Nexen Oil Sands Scholarship to ensure youth in Anzac and surrounding areas can share in the success of our Long Lake in situ oil sands facility. The scholarship provides financial support to high school graduates pursuing post-secondary education and skills training through university degrees and college diplomas, certificate programs at vocational schools and apprenticeships.

There are no restrictions on the program of study or discipline supported by the Oil Sands Scholarship. The amount of the scholarship varies:

University/College/Vocational Schools/Technical Schools

Apprenticeships

To be eligible for the Nexen Oil Sands Scholarship, applicants must be Canadian citizens, have graduated from high school at the time of the award, reside within Anzac or the surrounding area, and be entering full-time studies at a postsecondary institution or plan to begin an eligible apprenticeship technical training program within two years (full program details and eligibility are available at www.nexeninc.com.)
