Orestone Mining Corp. Names Erika Vargas as Chief Financial Officer

VANCOUVER, BRITISH COLUMBIA -- (Marketwire) -- 01/03/12 -- Orestone Mining Corp. (TSX VENTURE: ORS) is pleased to announce that the Company has named Erika Vargas as Chief Financial Officer after Mr. Lorne Torhjelm resigned. Ms. Vargas has a bachelor in accounting from the Universidad Juarez del Estado de Durango and a MBA from the Universidad Iberoamericana. She has been the Senior Accountant for Portal Resources Ltd. since March 2008. Prior to working in the mining industry, Ms. Vargas worked for seven years as a Controller for Scovill Fasteners Mexico, a manufacturing company with operations in North America, Europe and China.

The Company would like to thank Mr. Lorne Torhjelm for his service as the CFO of the Company since inception and wish him well in his future endeavors.
