Teck Trail Operations Reports Electrolyte Leak

TRAIL, BRITISH COLUMBIA -- (Marketwire - June 14, 2011) - Teck Metals Ltd. is reporting that approximately 25 cubic meters of lead refinery electrolyte solution leaked into the ground yesterday under the Lead Refinery Building at its Trail Operations. The area in question is actively monitored and there is no evidence that the leak has affected adjacent land or water or that it poses any safety risk to people, fish or wildlife.

Regulatory authorities have been notified and an investigation is underway to confirm the cause of the incident and to determine corrective measures and potential remedial options.
