BRS Resources Ltd. and Cariboo Rose Resources Ltd. Commence Drilling at Cowtrail Copper-Gold Project
BRS Resources Ltd. ("BRS") (TSX-V: BRS) and Cariboo Rose Resources Ltd. ("Cariboo Rose") (TSX-V: CRB) are pleased to announce that drilling has commenced at the Cowtrail Copper-Gold Project, located near the community of Horsefly in the Cariboo region of south-central British Columbia. The 4,592-hectare (11,066-acre) Cowtrail property lies 15 kilometres southeast of Imperial Metals Corp.'s operating Mt. Polley Mine and is contiguous with the Woodjam and Redgold copper-gold porphyry projects owned by Vizsla Copper Corp. Cariboo Rose has held 100% ownership of the property since 2004.
Situated within the prolific Jurassic-Triassic Quesnel Terrane, Cowtrail is prospective for copper-gold porphyry mineralization. Past exploration, including reconnaissance drilling in 2007 and 2011, defined a southwest-trending vector of increasing mineralization beyond earlier drill coverage. Historical intercepts include:
-
1.16 g/t gold over 18.3 metres (hole 07-DDH-1)
-
0.17% copper and 0.11 g/t gold over 40.0 metres (hole CT11-12)
Soil surveys in 2006 and 2021 identified a strong gold-arsenic anomaly coincident with a pronounced induced polarization (IP) chargeability anomaly located 1.5 kilometres west of prior drilling.
A five-hole drill program completed in 2023 tested the Lea Lake and BM Breccia areas. The highlight was hole CT23-16, which returned 0.15% copper over 105.0 metres, including 0.23% copper and 0.11 g/t gold over 15.0 metres. This hole was collared 45 metres south of CT11-12, with mineralization remaining open to the south (see February 20, 2024 news release).
The 2025 program aims to drill four new holes, each 250-300 metres deep, in the Lea Lake area to expand on the mineralization intersected in CT23-16.
Under an agreement dated December 19, 2022, BRS may earn a 60% interest in Cowtrail by completing $2,000,000 in exploration expenditures and making $400,000 in cash and share payments over five years. Upon vesting its 60% interest, a joint venture will be formed. If Cariboo Rose's interest is reduced below 15%, it will convert to a 2.5% NSR royalty, reducible to 1% with a $2,000,000 payment.
