Aker Solutions wins construction contract for pipe mill in US

27 April 2011 - Aker Construction, Inc., a subsidiary of Aker Solutions, has
been awarded a contract for the installation of the new V & M seamless pipe mill
in Youngstown, Ohio, US. The contract for supply of materials and installation
of the mechanical, electrical and piping for the project commences immediately.
Contract value is undisclosed.

said Steve Harker, who heads up Aker Solutions' union construction business in
the US .

The project is located adjacent to V & M Star LP's operations in Youngstown,
Ohio.  V & M officially broke ground on the new mill in late July, and plans for
the new mill to be operational in 2012.  Aker Solutions is currently executing
the supply and erection of the pipe mill building necessary to contain the
equipment and operations under a separate contract.



V & M Star belongs to Vallourec, a world leader in premium tubular products
mainly dedicated to oil and gas applications.  Its operations are based at three
sites: Houston, Texas; Muskogee, Oklahoma and the Youngstown facility.



Aker Solutions' contract party is Aker Construction, Inc., which will constitute
part of  Kvaerner.
